Matthew Slater and His Keys to Building a Great Football Team
Matthew Slater has played for the Patriots in the NFL since 2008 and is the team’s longest tenured player. Elected Special Teams Captain by his teammates in his third season, Slater has served as a team captain for a decade.
Slater is the Patriots’ representative to both the NFL Players’ Association and the United Way. Slater also runs the team’s Bible study. In 12 years in the NFL, Slater has been a 9X Pro Bowl selection, 3X Super Bowl Champion, and, like his father NFL Hall of Famer Jackie Slater, has been awarded the Bart Starr Award for exemplifying character and leadership at home, on the field, and in the community.
